This beautiful unique tropical tree house is located on an organic farm.  You can lay in bed with a 360 of the mountain and jungle, suspended in a tree house; nothing but jungle and wildlife sounds.  There is a suspension bridge leading to your own private bathroom, kitchen and dining pod.  You can pick up fresh food from the garden, make a meal in your pod and dine in the treetops.

The sweetest family run this eco lodge and they are deeply passionate about all things green and nature.  They actively involve guests in all their eco projects and encourage you to learn about sustainability during you stay. 4. Magical Jungle Tree House with Hot Springs

This Eco paradise is truly unique and although at the higher end of budget, for what you get it is still epic and worth including in a post affordable eco lodges costa rica. Trust me!  The Eco tree house lodge itself is beautiful and makes for a relaxing nature stay, beautiful wooden build and wrap around balcony and big windows so you feel connected with the jungle.  There is something deepling humanising and relaxing about sleeping up in the trees, surrounded by the noises of the rainforest.  This eco stay has a way of making you feel at one with both yourself and nature again.

The biggest draw however and the reason to pay that bit more is for the access to their deep earth organic mineral rich hot springs.  They let you access the pools any time of day, making for some truly magical moments day or night.  They have both hot springs and cool pools for swimming, it really makes for the most dreamy eco holiday!

They actually have 2 amazing tree house lodges worth checking out, one can host 3 and the other can host 2, for safety reasons they don’t allow under 5’s to stay. Both tree houses are handcrafted using local materials, absolutely stunning!

5. Pacuare River Lodge Eco Stay

You know you’re staying somewhere cool when it’s only accessible by 4×4 or raft!  This is more than just an eco lodge, it’s an eco adventure holiday.  Pacuare River Lodge offers many packages including both local Costa Rican meals are crazy fun activities like wildlife hiking and white water rafting.  When you stay here you are surrounded by jungle, rivers, waterfalls and wildlife; a beautiful balance of adventure and nature.

6. Eco Hotel Wagelia Espino Blanco

Relax in a hammock on your personal balcony as you take in the jungle.  This is one the best Costa rica eco lodges for slowing down, relaxing and being at peace with nature.  Although it calls itself a hotel, it is everything we would understand an eco jungle lodge to be.  Please do note that does mean that to some it is too basic; limited wifi, limited electricity and hot water.  If you’re the kind of traveller who wants a more authentic junge stay, these beautiful little cabins are a great option. 

They have built a beautiful communal jungle garden room with trees growing through the middle and swing chairs, giving it great eco vibes. Oh and food is amazing! Local sourced delicious authentic Costa rican dishes; the breakfasts are especially good.  Although this can be at the high end of budget, they do include breakfast in the price and can have upto 4 in a room at that price, making it a very affordable option for bigger groups and families.

7. Casa Lajas Eco Farm Experience

This beautiful Costa Rica Eco farm lodge experience is one of the most authentic ways to connect with rural costa rican life.  Set on top of a beautiful jungle mountain, it is stunning to explore the surrounding areas.  WIth this eco farm being new and hardly reviewed yet, it is super affordable, staring at just £24 per room. The rooms are very simple, the most basic out of all the ones we have featured, but they do have all you need.  There is a great shared kitchen, BBQ and dining area. You can order breakfast or cooked for yourself.  Everything is sourced locally and they even offer vegan food options.

The farm itself is really quite beautiful, providing you are gentle and respectful. They are happy for you to explore and meet the animals; they want you to feel at home.  For the price this is a great way to experience an authentic Eco farm lodge stay in rural Costa Rica.

8. Torre Alta Eco Lodge

This stunning unique eco farm lodge is handmade by a couple who planted the very trees that have now been used to make the lodges. They have made the most of the stunning jungle location they are based in, rooms are well designed and spaced out so every guest feels as though they have their own little Costa Rican haven.  The rooms are built with big windows to make the most of the views, their sunrise lodge is particularly stunning.  For the price, these eco lodges are built to a great standard and it’s ran so beautifully it makes for the perfect costa rica eco holiday.  Annette and Harry who run this beautiful, very affordable jungle lodge love to host and are excited to share Costa rican culture with you.

9. Aracari Garden Eco Hostel

This one isn’t exactly an eco lodge, but we wanted to find somewhere on the Caribbean coast near Tortuguero National Park that is ethically ran, affordable and ran eco style.  It is more like a cute family hostel. It is however  a particularly great pick as it comes very highly recommended and reviewed;  it also caters well for everyone from solo to couple to family travellers.  The setting is beautiful and each of the rooms have a little patio looking out onto the lush  jungle garden.  The main draw is the location.  Tortuguero National Park and the near by beaches are great for spotting turtles and even see them laying their eggs!

10. Bella Vista Ranch Adventures Ecolodge

This stunning Costa Rica Eco lodge is fantastic value for what they offer.  The more affordable room is great and has everything you need plus a beautiful hammock adorned balcony looking out to the jungle.  If you splash out on their villa you will be amazed at what you get for your money! This beautiful wooden eco lodge is split level in design, stylishly furnished and offering great views from every room.  You really feel like you are waking up in the jungle.  Oh and when you wake up make sure you have one of their delicious local breakfasts!
