Travellers are the hardest to buy for! SO, based on lots of experience I have put together some great little gifts for under £20! Some would make great ‘stocking fillers’ or great “I love you but don’t know what I can get you for under £20 gifts”.

Buff
A buff is truly the most amazing travel accessory, that you pretty much end up living in! There is such a huge range in styles you’ll just know you’ve got the right one for your unique traveller. They have awesome hot and cold weather options, I tend to go for the thinner ones and find them a lot more versatile.
£11 is a good price for them, you shouldn’t need to spend more than £15.
Diary
I know it seems pretty old school, but there really is something to keeping a handwritten diary as you travel, especially in a gorgeous book like this. They make you take time to reflect, gather your thoughts, gather your ticket stubs to create a little bit of memorabilia that just becomes more precious over time.
£19 is more than people tend to spend on themselves for something like this, hence why it makes such a gorgeous special gift!
Decent Memory Card
I regret ever buying cheap memory cards as they are slow and can corrupt, meaning you lose all your precious photos! Micros tend to be tougher and more versatile. I have a few of these Samsung Evos and love them as they come with an SD card adapter meaning they can slip into most cameras. For photographs, a 32 GB card should be enough, but if they film, then it is best to get a 64 GB card.

Good Quality Travel Adapter
It might not seem super glam, but you use them most days travelling, so a good quality one is awesome. Like most things, I was prone to buying cheapo versions and then a friend gave me a decent one that actually stays in the wall! #gamechanger

ooo there is also a super safe earthed option, this one is a lot more expensive, but than can be very useful in cheap asian hostels (I know the fancy one is not under £20 but it’s the kind of thing my mum would buy me!)

Travel towel
The super cheap ones are like trying scratch yourself dry, but if you get something like a Life Venture, they’re fab, they last and they actually absorb water (surprisingly not a given some travel towels). I’m loving the new designs from Life Venture! Note, they come in a range of sizes and medium or large tend to be a good option for most travellers. They also come in soft fibre and micro fibre. Both are good and hygienic for travel according to science and the sniff test!

Into the wild
I really think everyone should read this, it just challenges your status quo no matter where you are at in your journey. There is also a movie and even a soundtrack for into the wild. The latter I have nearly worn out! It really is a perfect gift for anyone who is stirred up by travel and adventure.

Tough camera case
It is worth finding out what camera they are taking and get them a quality case for it. The Low Pro ones are pretty good for understated protection for the more adventurous. You can also get some pretty stylish retro ones too; I personally love the tan leather retro ones, but they are a bit pricey compared to the tough action ones.

Clear Dry Bags
These are super useful for beach time and trekking adventures. You get 3 of them, they’re touch screen sensitive (ish!) and can go 10 Meters underwater (ish). Though they boast a lot more, I only tend to trust them for swimming or trekking if you think you might get caught out in a storm.

Wash Bag
I adore all things Osprey, they just really think it all out. This particular little beauty is perfect traveling light. They’re stuff wears well and if you do have an issues their customer service is pretty awesome too.

Sunglasses
It’s hard not get jealous when you’re buying sunglasses for someone who will actually get to use them! Good UV protection is important, but it is also expensive, Try not to drop below 400/cat 3, as it can be really damaging to eyes over time. If your explorer is prone to hot countries, then it really is worth picking out a quality pair of sunglasses for them!

Hiking Socks
It’s great to have at least one awesome pair of hiking socks when you travel. I love mine and think you can’t get much better than Merino wool, they help keep the pong at bay at little longer! These ones are predominately merino wool, but they use a little nylon and elastane to help shape them and get them as technical as socks get!

Padlock
A good quality padlock comes in handy again and again! Security on the move, staying in hostels, overnight lockers; you always need a good padlock! Often it can handy to have two, each on a different colour. With these ones you don’t have to worry about losing your keys either!

These are super valuable for keeping passports, cards and emergency cash well hidden. The fit the curve of the body, neatly under clothes, completely out of sight. This is super handy and thoughtful little gift for a traveller.

Understated black in ear headphones are a great thing to have on your travels. Headphones like these are light to pack and yet offer so much luxury. As a traveller you can end up on a 24 hour bus or train and having your own headphones can be bliss. Try to avoid white headphones as they have proven to be more of a target as they indicate an iphone or such.
