As the first excited child throws their handful of colourful powder up into the balmy India air, the streets if India come to life. Armed with water guns, water balloons, bags and handfuls of vibrant coloured powder, young and old, local and foreigner dash to the streets to celebrate this unique and intense Hindu festival.
